MyScan is an exciting and innovative new consumer panel, in the UK market.
MyScan has been developed in response to marketplace demand for improved consumer insight in the increasingly important convenience sector. Following a successful pilot panel of 500 GB individuals during 2004, sponsored by major clients including Unilever Bestfoods, Britvic, Nestle Rowntree and Kraft Foods, ACNielsen has now completed development of a 4,500 strong panel of consumers who continuously record their out of home consumption.

MyScan uses proven technology and a methodology adapted from established ACNielsen MyScan panels in Asia Pacific! Miniature portable key fob scanners, are used to record individuals’ purchases for ‘out of home’ consumption, captured at the point of sale, eliminating the need for diaries or recall.
Covering your key impulse categories and all channels including education, work and leisure, purchase data is collected rapidly each week, via the Internet, from a representative sample of over 4,500 individuals, aged between 11 and 64 years old.
In addition to understanding which products were purchased by which consumers through which channels, at what date and time, MyScan captures where each product was stocked, where it was consumed and who consumed it.
The use of proven new technology is intended to provide faster more accurate data, which can be analysed on it’s own, or integrated with ACNielsen’s complementary Homescan panel and Scantrack Impulse, to provide the most accurate and complete picture of your category dynamics.
